I am an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor), currently living in New York City after twelve years in Louisville, Kentucky. Since 2015, I have worked as a therapist providing in-home therapy to children and families, in residential treatment for children, and in virtual private practice.
I spent my twenties studying creative writing and teaching college English, and those years have informed my work as a therapist. I have published essays, short fiction, and book reviews (some examples here, here, and here, and a more comprehensive list here).
The books here were chosen because they strike a nerve with me and/or my clients.
Books and blogs are powerful, but they are not a substitute for therapy. If you’re struggling, call 988 or visit safespace.vibrant.org.
